🤖 Ignite your creativity at StopMotion Creator Camp! Create, share, and inspire as you learn to bring stories to life through stop-motion animation using DragonFrame software! Collaborate on engaging visuals, and master the art of editing and storytelling.
Notes
In this camp students learn how to use Dragonframe, the industry standard stop motion software, to collaborate and create! Young creators are challenged to tell awesome stories using toys, household objects, and more to bring stories to life!
Our curriculum prioritizes digital literacy and online safety​. Privacy-first: videos won't be published online during camp, videos will be shared directly with parents, and the decision to publish post-camp is yours to make.
What you'll learn
- Storytelling Skills - Narrative Development: Learn how to create captivating stories for stop-motion animations.
- Visual Storytelling: Discover how to use visuals and editing techniques to bring your story to life and make it unforgettable.
- Creative Thinking & Digital Skills - Creative Problem-Solving: Design imaginative video ideas and solve fun technical challenges as you bring your animations to life.
- Digital Literacy: Explore stop-motion tools and techniques to create meaningful and engaging digital stories.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work together to create animations, learning how to share ideas and support your teammates.
- Self-Confidence: Gain confidence by sharing your ideas and even presenting your stop-motion projects.
- Presentation Skills: Practice explaining your creative concepts and showing your work to others.
- Intro to Video Production - Basic Stop-Motion Production: Learn the essentials of stop-motion, including setting up shots, editing, and adding fun effects.
- Time Management: Plan your projects and stick to deadlines while still having fun creating your animations!
Sample Class Format
- 8:30 - Drop off / Check in
- 9:00 - Instruction / Pre-production
- 10:30 - Onset Film Production
- 12:00 - Lunch Break - Bring a lunch!
- 12:30 - Team Building Outside
- 12:45 - Continue Filming
- 1:30 - Post-production work
- 2:30 - Pick up - No later than 3:00pm
Other Things To Know
Tuition and Fees Refund Policy - If you are forced to cancel for any reason you will receive your full purchase price as a transferable credit, good for any NW Film Camp session through 2027. Tuition is non-refundable but transferable.
