With so many resources for “online learning”, it can be sometimes tough to find activities that are for fun! The good news is that many online learning resources can also be used for online fun. 

No matter the distance, online games for kids make it easy to play some of our favorite board games even when we're not gathered around the same table. We’ve pulled together a list of our favorite free online games for kids, teens, and the entire family. 


1. Pictionary with skribbl.io

Gather up to 12 players and create a private room to play! Players draw the word with their mouse and the other players will try to guess the word in the chat. The site automatically times each round and you can choose a custom set of words to really personalize the game. 

2. CodeNova Quiz Game

Code Nova is a junior programming club and their popular Free Quiz Game happens every Saturday! Based in Scratch, a coding language just for kids, the entire group plays the Kahoot quiz together live. 

3. PBS Kids

Games centered around beloved PBS shows like Curious George, Wild Kratts, Daniel Tiger and Peg + Cat! Entirely free, just sign up with an account. 

4. Zumbini Play

Movement-focused Zumbini play is an early childhood education program that uses original music and movement to promote cognitive, social, fine/gross motor skill, and emotional development for children ages. Their free dance classes incorporate play and movement to get your kids grooving!

5. SwitchZoo

SwitchZoo is perfect for children who are animal-obsessed! Make new animals, play animal games, solve animal puzzles, take a guided tour, and join a zoo quest.

6. Kula Kids Yoga

Using themed classes that appeal to kids and yoga inspired games, Kula Yoga Kids practices thoughtful and reflexive yoga to promote both physical and mental well-being.

7. Lego

In the Lego Play Zone, children are able to play games, watch videos and explore their own lego worlds. Browse by sets and watch your child’s favorite legos come to life on screen. 

8. Carter’s Play Place

Carter’s play place is all about inclusive play. They run two popular free events — Cup Stacking and Dance Fit. Cup stacking is a fun game for all ages and abilities. 

9. RamoGames

Hundreds of kids games, geography games, iPhone games, math games, puzzles, and other educational games for kids, parents, and teachers. New kids educational games added regularly. Your little ones will need a bit of help getting started choosing a game, but there are tons of options to choose from! 

10. Mancala

Mancala is played by moving stones around a board until all stones are in either your "store" or your opponent's. On this website, you can create a free account or play as a guest. Create a private game to invite a friend via a link, and try to outwit them and get all the stones.

11. Mr. Corbitt's Free Fridays

Mr. Corbitt’s classes use contemporary songs from the realms of jazz, reggae, pop, rock, and R&B to illustrate these developmental concepts, Mr. Corbitt classes are a far cry from the norm. Perfect for younger ages, he offers free classes every Friday! 

12. Connect4

Connect 4 supports both competition, fun and counting! Play as a guest and invite a friend via a link, or create an account to organize an online tournament for multiple friends. 

13. Card games

Card games are great for the entire family! This site has 12 pre-made gaming options, including backgammon, cribbage, chess, checkers, crazy eights, hearts, and more. Discover six of our favorite card games!

14. Sawyer Free Classes

Sawyer has thousands of classes every day, many of which are free. Classes are geared towards fun and games and are great for all ages. 

15. Battleship

Battleship — the classic children’s game for 2 —is now online! Now kids can practice their reading, logic and critical thinking skills while taking down their opponent.
