Movie Halloween costumes

1. The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz is a classic movie that allows the entire family to get in on the fun. All you need is a Dorothy, and the rest of the family can pick between the Lion, Scarecrow, Tinman, or even Glinda, the Good Witch. For added fun, let the family dog come along as Toto! And because it’s 2020, we’re sure some flying monkeys will come out of the woodwork.

2. Where’s Waldo?

This is a fun, easy, DIY costume. The whole family needs red and white striped shirts, jeans, and a sock hat. Add some black-rimmed glasses to look even more authentic. Take some fun pictures hiding around the yard for your own “Where’s Waldo?” experience.

3. Ghostbusters

This costume is sure to be a crowd pleaser! The family needs tan jumpsuits and proton packs. No monsters will be bothering your crew. Shake things up by dressing as the Marshmallow Man or ghosts for a little extra fun! Here are some fun options.

4. Flintstones

This is a classic costume. Everyone will know exactly who you are! Make sure you get Fred and Wilma with their iconic blue tie and pearl necklace. The children can dress up as Pebbles and Bam Bam. Take this costume a step further by removing the undercarriage of your car so you can properly emulate the Flintstones mode of transportation (...just kidding).

5. Minions

What better costume for your little minions? All you need is a yellow top, overalls and Minion glasses. All the materials you need should be around your home. Even the family dog can get in on the fun!

6. Frozen

Do you have an Elsa obsessed child? Go with the Frozen theme and dress up as the characters! Another child can be Anna or Olaf, and mom and dad can be Anna and Kristoff. This is sure to make your children excited to dress up as a family. The best part? One of our Sawyer providers, All About Theatre, does an online makeup workshop so you can do the perfect Frozen makeup!
