Super Bowl games for kids
The Super Bowl can only hold a child’s attention for so long. By having a steady stream of games available while you watch the game, your children can have fun while enjoying the experience of watching the Super Bowl as a family. Check out some of our favorite Super Bowl games for kids to keep everyone entertained.
Football BINGO
This is a great game for children who are interested in learning more about how football works. Set up BINGO boards before the game begins with items like sack, touchdown, field goal, interception, and more on the board. Then, as the game progresses, help your child pay attention and mark off the different elements of play that occur. Get everyone at the party involved so your child feels a healthy sense of competition!
Pin the helmet on the player
Like pin the tail on the donkey, for this game, children should be blindfolded while they attempt to put a printed helmet on a picture of a football player. You can make it even harder by spinning them around beforehand. Parents might have fun playing this game too!
Football toss
If your children are feeling inspired watching the pros, give them an opportunity to practice throwing the football, too. You can set up a target on a wall or hang a hula hoop from a tree and have the children practice their aim. If it’s half time, bring the adults out too, so everyone has a shot!
Super Bowl kid friendly recipes
One of the most important parts of organizing an enjoyable Super Bowl party for both children and adults is the food. While a lot of the Super Bowl snacks are good for both adults and little ones, it is also helpful to have some options specifically for the children. Here are some of our favorite Super Bowl kid friendly recipes so that your children avoid getting hangry at the event.
- Pigs in a blanket. Children (and adults) love these mini hotdogs wrapped in crescent rolls. They are even shaped like footballs! Include a variety of dipping sauces like ketchup, mustard, relish, chipotle sauce, and more.
- Popcorn bar. Put out popcorn and lots of fun toppings so the children can make their own bags of popcorn. You can include nuts, M&Ms, chocolate chips, and other fun treats that they love.
- Chocolate covered strawberry footballs. Make chocolate covered strawberries and let the chocolate harden in the fridge. Then, use white chocolate or frosting to draw laces on the front so it looks like a football!
- Healthy apple nachos. Instead of chips, meat, and cheese, slice up apples and then pour over some caramel or chocolate sauce, dried banana or strawberries, chocolate chunks, and anything else that your children love!
- Ants on a log. Spread peanut butter onto pieces of celery and then add raisins or chocolate chips on top. It looks a little like football players on the field if you have nosebleed seats!

Super Bowl crafts for kids
Keeping your children occupied doesn’t mean you have to leave the room where the game is playing. Check out these Super Bowl crafts for kids that your children will enjoy while you watch the main event.
Make fingerprint footballs
Cut a piece of white paper into the shape of a football and then put painter’s tape in the center in the shape of the laces. Then, let your children finger paint the “ball” brown or whatever colors they desire. Once they have finished, remove the painter’s tape and you have a perfect football. You can use these as decorations or as a fun way to keep your children busy during the game.
Decorate team flags
If your children are a bit older, then you can have them create flags with the colors and logos of the competing teams. Ask them to make these banners before the game and then they can ask guests and family members who they are supporting. Your child will enjoy interacting with the adults in the room and they can add to their banners based on how many people support each team.
Decorate cookies and cupcakes
Working together with adults, let the children decorate cookies or cupcakes to look like footballs, a field, or to match the colors and mascots of the competing teams. There are so many benefits of baking with kids and it is especially fun to let them decorate treats that they can then share with their friends and family.
Get into the Valentine’s spirit
This year, the Super Bowl is the day before Valentine’s Day. Therefore, you can offer your children the opportunity to make Valentines for their friends and family during the big game.
