Class Experience
Camp Catapult is Catapult Acting’s signature camp that combines scene work, improv, and mindset exercises with hands-on industry perspectives. This camp is designed for ALL levels of actors, and any child or teen interested in learning more about the TV+Film acting industry.
Instructed by Catapult Founder, Erik Lingvall, this 5-day intensive covers every aspect of the audition process. In addition to learning about acting for TV/Film and on-camera audition technique, actors will receive insight and feedback from a different industry pro each day. Pro could be a top agent, manager, casting pro, working actor, producer and/or director!
NOTE: The different age groups: Youth (8-12) and Teens (13-17) will be split into two different groups to work on scenes. Jillian Batherson, one of Catapult's lead coaches will join Erik and they will switch off working with each group. This ensures the highest quality of work and focus when it comes to the acting portion, however, the groups will be together for lunch, opening day warm ups, games, and some lectures.
EXAMPLE CAMP AGENDA:
Day 1: Working Actor - Pre Preparation
- Know the genre
- Know the director & their work
- Know the network
- Learn how to slate with confidence and personality!
- Work on one-line costar auditions
- Q+A with Working Actor
Day 2: Agent or Manager - Scene Prep
- Break down a scene as a group to learn scene work + audition preparation technique
- Apply script analysis technique to a cold read!
- Actors execute their scene for the industry pro
- Q+A with a Talent Agent or Manager
Day 3: Casting Director - WORKING THE SCRIPT
- Deep dive into scene work with coaches
- Actors execute their scene for the industry pro
- Q+A with Casting Director
Day 4: Director/Producer- The Callback
- Actors execute their scene in front of an industry pro like a real callback
- Actors perform the scene a second time after receiving feedback from the Industry Pro
- Q+A with Director/Producer
Day 5: Final Performance for Parents
- Learning to take direction, while making different choices and staying true to who you are
- Directability, being able to adapt on the spot
- Final performance for friends and family to see what they have been working on all week

Class Requirements
- No Prerequisite - We welcome all kids and teens to come and learn about TV+Film!
- Parents are invited at the end of each day to participate in a Q&A with the guest industry pro that your kids worked with that day. On Friday, we invite all parents to our "Friends and Family Showcase"
- Parents invited to first day opening warm up to hear first hand about what your kids will be experiencing throughout the week.
