Class Experience

In this workshop we help moms feel prepared to breastfeed their baby from the moment of birth until they are ready to wean. Partners will learn the best way to support the breastfeeding mom so she can continue to nourish their child. We will explore the benefits of breastfeeding for mom and baby both and the amazing ways a woman’s body prepares to breastfeed. We discuss the importance of breastfeeding immediately after birth and how you can achieve this. We will discuss ways to increase your chances of successfully breastfeeding your baby for the length of time you choose. We also look at the many changes that may occur during your breastfeeding journey and how to breastfeed successfully through each change. How to help your baby latch correctly and different positions for breastfeeding are discussed and practiced. Lastly, common misconceptions and problems with breastfeeding are also looked at, as well as continuing to breastfeed when returning to work.
