Class Experience

Unleash your artistic flair as you experiment with the versitile and vibrant medium of gouache. Our expert instructors will guide you through techniques, allowing you to bring your imagination to life on watercolor paper.

You will discover the beauty of gouache painting in a supportive and fun atmosphere.

This class is ideal for our current Art 1 and Art 2 students and anyone who loves to paint and is up for the challenge! We will scope your project based on your experience.

*Opaque watercolor paint is also called Gouache Paint.

Note: If your child signs up for a morning workshop and an afternoon workshop for the same week, he/she may stay for the lunch hour for free in-between sessions!

Class Requirements

Students should be able to behave appropriately and work independently in a studio art classroom.
Students who already love to paint and want to learn more about opaque watercolor (gouache) are ideal candidates!

Other Things To Know

Cancellation Policy

This workshop is not refundable; however, it may be exchanged for another summer workshop of equal value (Or difference in price applied) the same summer of 2025. The last week of workshops in July will not be able to be exchanged.

What To Bring

Please bring a small snack and bottled water for our short break during class.

Meet your Instructors

Allee F.

Allee has a B.F.A degree and is a multi-talented artist starting her third-year teaching with CAC. In her other career, she is an adjunct band instructor for Plainfield High School.

Rachel R.

Rachel is a full-time Art Education student at Herron School of Art at IUPUI. She has experience teaching students of all ages and loves to share the joy of art with young people. Rachel is also a fantastic artist, and we are blessed to have her at CAC.

Parker L.

Parker is a professional illustrator with a BFA degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Parker loves working with youth of all ages, and he is excited to help each student learn art techniques that will help their creativity shine!
