Class Experience
Anime/Manga Character Creation & Drawing: Beginning & Advanced
- New or returning comic students will both be challenged in this course!
Workshop Details:
Students will use traditional and Japanese art principles to develop their own Anime/Manga characters!
- Goal: Conceptualize; Draw; & Complete 2 unique Anime or Marvel-style characters and complete two detailed color portraits by the end of the workshop.
- This course has a curriculum with lesson plans, and your child will have daily goals as he/she conceptualizes and practices drawing new characters!
- The staff consists of professionally trained artists.
- There may be a parent demonstration of the artwork at the end of the week.
Note: If your child signs up for a morning workshop and an afternoon workshop for the same week, he/she may stay for the lunch hour for free in-between sessions!
Class Requirements
- Students must be able to work independently and behave appropriately in a specialized studio art classroom.
- Students should have a coachable mindset and be open to improvement.

Other Things To Know
Cancellation Policy
This workshop is not refundable; however, it may be exchanged for another summer workshop of equal value (Or difference in price applied) the same summer of 2025. The last week of workshops in July will not be able to be exchanged.
What To Bring
- Students should bring water bottle and one small optional snack to eat (such as a granola bar) during our break halfway through the class.
- Children's Art Studio will provide all the art supplies necessary for this workshop.

Meet your Instructors
Allee F.
Allee has a B.F.A degree and is a multi-talented artist starting her third-year teaching with CAC. In her other career, she is an adjunct band instructor for Plainfield High School.
Rachel R.
Rachel is a full-time Art Education student at Herron School of Art at IUPUI. She has experience teaching students of all ages and loves to share the joy of art with young people. Rachel is also a fantastic artist, and we are blessed to have her at CAC.
Parker L.
Parker is a professional illustrator with a BFA degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Parker loves working with youth of all ages, and he is excited to help each student learn art techniques that will help their creativity shine!
