The Spring Improv Workshop is an 8-week improv intensive for teens.
Classes are Wednesdays from 4:30pm-6:30pm.
In this eight-week workshop, our teen students will learn and practice core techniques of improvisation.
Participants will play games, make bold and ridiculous choices, and train to give performances that feel grounded in reality - even if they are made up on the fly! This class is designed to help students in their teen years hone their existing acting skills and unlock new tools for their work onstage. Led by a seasoned acting and improv instructor, this small group will practice taking risks, failing without fear, and building characters and stories within a supportive ensemble. This class will impart fun and useful techniques for performers that can be applied to their work in modern dramas, musical theater, Shakespeare, and more!
Meet our Improv Teaching Artist:
Jarrett Galante is an Actor, Writer, & Director. He has worked and studied with A.C.T. and Jean Shelton in San Francisco as well as The Groundlings, UCB, and Stella Adler in Los Angeles. He has taught comedic Improv for The Upfront Theater in Bellingham Washington, formerly run by Ryan Stiles. He loves to bring fun and excitement into all his classes, and believes that a sense of play is crucial to the art of acting. "It's only worth doing if you're having fun!"
