Class Experience

This oil painting class is designed for students of all skill levels, from beginners to more experienced painters looking to refine their techniques.  Where we'll delve into the captivating style of John Singer Sargent. Known for his masterful brushwork and keen observation of light and color. Sargent’s wet on wet style involves applying fresh layers of paint onto wet or still-damp layers, allowing colors to blend directly on the canvas creating work of remarkable vitality and elegance. Throughout this course, we will explore techniques such as bold, confident brushstrokes and a nuanced understanding of composition to evoke depth and realism in our pantings. Meet your Instructor

Jonathan E.

Jonathan is a born a raised New Yorker. Drawing early on and throughout his life even during his six year hiatus in the Navy serving aboard Submarines and the first Gulf war. The Navy exposed him not only the world outside of New York but to art history beyond that of his early New York graffiti art scene. Upon completion of his enlistment and his strong work ethic he went on to study fine arts, focusing on painting, drawing and sculpture and a minor in Art History at the University of Missouri
