Class Experience

Explore the versatility of watercolor painting in this class designed for kiddos!  We'll learn various techniques including wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, blending, and layering. Kids will also be able to hone their drawing skills as we sketch out the works first. Watercolor's translucent and light feel is ideal for conveying emotion and atmosphere without seeking perfection. Learn to control this medium, explore warm and cold colors, use texture, and paint details.

Sample Class Format

  • In our course students will learn:
  • How to start with a palette of watercolors suitable for your subject matter
  • Watercolor applications: wet on wet, dry on dry, underpainting, gradients, color blending, layering, and dry brush techniques
  • Color theory: what happens when we mix various colors?
