Class Experience

Teens get an inside look into the exciting world of street art styles with graffiti art in this exploratory class. In this course, we will garner inspiration from New York city street artists like Basquiat, and Keith Haring as well as contemporary international artists like the illusive Banksy! Roll up your sleeves and dive in, this class is excellent for young adventurers who love to explore new media and classes will be hosted by a special guest professional graffiti artist.

Students are welcome to bring in objects or pieces to work on, like old trainers, t-shirts, and bags.

Sample Class Format

  • We will study artists' unique styles and techniques, and demo how to apply these techniques to our own creations.
  • Study silhouettes, emoji styles, word-based art, poster art, sticker street art, chalk art
  • Learn how to make our own graffiti tag!
  • Learn how to make guerilla art, explore splash lettering, apply collage, use stencils + more!
  • Work with cool neon paint colors + spray paint (non-toxic of course) to apply depth.
