A Beginner Friendly and No Dye Mess Workshop!
Learn how to imprint beautiful Plant designs from Nature to create both natural imprints and a rich color background on silk! Ecoprinting (also known as botanical printing) involves foraging for leaves, plants and flowers to imprint their images directly upon protein fibers using the process you learn in the workshop. Students will learn techniques to enhance the natural designs to create richly colored backgrounds on their silk. At the end of the day, students will take home 2 silk scarves-one imprinted entirely from Nature's resources and one with the addition of a colored background. Class is beginner friendly!
Ecoprinting is a natural, sustainable art form.

What To Bring
- An empty one gallon water jug to use as weight (can be filled at class)
- Leaves from your area such as oak, maples, rose, hickory, sumac, blackberry, kudzu and interesting weeds.
- Fun additional plants (typically store bought) are eucalyptus and colorful "flat" flowers such as daises.
- No thick or woody plants or waxy leaves such as camellia.
- All other materials will be provided.

M Theresa Brown is a professional artist whose long art career embraces many areas of the Arts. She studied Commercial Art and Printmaking at East Carolina University, and has since embraced the fiber arts. specializing in Ecoprinting on natural fibers and is the first US instructor to teach the techniques on leather.
