Join us for a 5 day design and sewing intensive!  In this workshop, young designers will explore the world of sketching, fabrics, design and sewing to create a unique garment or collection.  We will start with the basics of threading a sewing machine, and how to sew a beginner friendly project.  From there, we will learn about fashion illustration, translating designs into technical sketches, how to cut patterns, how to select the right fabric, and we will end with construction of a piece. 

We will focus on creativity, imagination, and finding unique solutions to design challenges.  This is a beginner friendly workshop, and will strive for practice over perfection!  

Class size is limited to 8 students.  Specific instruction will follow the students’ interests.  Topics and techniques covered may include zippers, elastic, buttons and button holes, creating ruffles, and more.

All machines and materials will be provided.  Students may bring their own machines with prior approval.
