Class Experience

Locavore Farm Summer Camp: July 14-17, 9 AM - 2 PM

PLUS! Family Night Dinner: Saturday, July 19, 6-9 PM

Join us for an immersive, hands-on farm experience where kids ages 6-13 will explore the rhythms of farm life, the art of growing and preparing food, and the beauty of nature’s design. Each day, campers will engage in meaningful activities that connect them to the land, their food, and each other. Every day includes farm chores, culinary projects, and a communal lunch featuring fresh, farm-grown ingredients.

The week culminates in Family Night Dinner on Saturday, a special gathering inspired by our Dine on the Land experiences—completely curated for families to enjoy a farm-fresh meal together.

Daily Focus & Activities

  • Harvest ingredients for our farm kitchen
  • Learn preservation techniques: pickling & canning
  • Create botanical art using natural dyes
  • Enjoy an unhurried pace with time for crafts, storytelling, and play

🧑‍🍳 Culinary Focus: Campers will harvest, prep, and create their own farm-fresh lunch, incorporating their pickled and preserved foods.

  • Learn the secrets of companion planting and edible landscaping
  • Create living sculptures with natural materials

🧑‍🍳 Culinary Focus: Hands-on plating and presentation—kids will learn how to make dishes look beautiful and taste delicious using fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Day Three: The Fiber & Grain Connection

Explore how plants and animals provide fibers for clothing, home, and food.

  • Work with raw wool: washing, carding, and felting
  • Learn about pasture health and its impact on animals
  • Grind grains and bake fresh bread
  • Create handwoven farm crafts using natural fibers

🧑‍🍳 Culinary Focus: Campers will make their own bread from freshly milled grains, paired with homemade farm butter and herb spreads.

  • Harvest, prep, and cook a farm-fresh meal
  • Learn basic knife skills and kitchen safety
  • Experience open-fire and outdoor cooking techniques
  • Create a beautiful farm-to-table setting for Family Night

🧑‍🍳 Culinary Focus: Campers will cook and set the table for Family Night, preparing a meal to share with their families.

Optional Family Night Dinner

📅 Saturday, July 19 | 6-9 PM Locavore’s Family Night Out

Step away from the noise, the schedules, and the screens, and settle into an evening where time slows down and togetherness takes center stage. Locavore’s Family Night Out is an immersive farm dining experience—a unique version of our signature Dine on the Land event, specially curated for families to play, explore, and feast together. As the sun sets over the farm, guests are invited to wander, unwind, and soak in the beauty of nature before gathering around Locavore’s giant table for a seasonal, farm-fresh feast. There’s no need to sit still, no hushed voices, no rush to move on—just a relaxed, open-air meal where kids can run, parents can linger, and families can truly be present with one another. Expect delicious food, live music, and a sense of ease that comes from simply being together. Let the farm be your getaway for the evening—where laughter replaces screens, and where every moment is meant to be savored.

Come hungry, stay awhile, and make memories that last beyond the night.
