Class Experience
Robofun uses an advanced Lego robotics system called Spike to teach 3rd-6th graders about lego robotics. Spike combines colorful Lego building, computer hardware with an effective drag and drop coding language based on Scratch to engage students through playful learning activities to solve complex problems and think critically, whatever level they might be at. Spike is a great tool for students to learn STEAM. Robofun has its own series of unique blueprints and activities based in Spike to ensure our students are having fun and developing essential skills for their growth and development.

Hi!I'm Molly and i came to robofun because it is a lot of fun!I learned a lot of interesting stuff like, for example, how motors work and what they can do to your build, like, the hub is the main motor. You can think of the hub as the king of all motors. The teacher,Mr.Tommy was very nice and helped me and my friend build our very own helicopter!
Improvements:
Nothing.

I love how the instructor waits for you if your slow on something and the fact of how this is a chance for children to make more friends. You learn a lot for example, redstones in Minecraft and sumbareines in Robotics.
Improvements:
Nothing really can be impoved exept for the fact when doing robotics, the slideshows might miss a step or so.

My 10-year-old son loved building and programming robots in his Spike Robotics class, especially when he got to see his creations come to life and complete challenges. He also enjoyed collaborating with his classmates on different projects and learning new coding skills.

My daughter loves this class - she already to builds Legos and simple robots but this class adds coding, which is a great new challenge for her! My goal is to expose her to as much STEM as possible because my experience as a female engineer is - although there have been improvements the field remains very male dominated.
Improvements:
Nothing to improve!

About Robofun
RoboFun offers dynamic workshops for children using cutting edge technologies. Children ages 3 – 12 (Pre-K to 6th grade) come to our studio on 102nd Street and Broadway in Manhattan to build and program robots, design and construct video games and make stop-motion animations. Your child will learn about engineering, coding, and creative thinking. Our work is based on children’s innate passion and curiosity and our workshops allow children to become makers and designers. We run creative after-school programs and train teachers in over 100 schools in the New York City area.
