Class Experience
We're thrilled to present our very first full-scale spring musical, Annie Jr. – the perfect next step for young performers ages 6-12! This program invites kids to join a professional-style production, experiencing the excitement of rehearsing and performing a beloved classic while staying true to Treasure Trunk’s core values: focusing on the joy of the process, creativity, and teamwork. The semester culminates with a full-scale performance at the beloved Gallery Players Theater in Park Slope.
In Annie Jr., children will not only learn the ins and outs of putting on a full show but also the invaluable skills of collaboration, storytelling, and sharing their work with a live audience. Whether they're ready to sing front and center or excited to try something new while bringing scenes to life from the ensemble, there’s a meaningful role for everyone.
This is a wonderful opportunity for young actors to build confidence, embrace teamwork, and enjoy the experience of bringing a story to life for family and friends.
Auditions: All children enrolled in the production will receive a role! The first week we will learn scenes, songs, and a dance all together as a group as children become familiar with the show. The second week, we will have a supportive audition experience, where children interested in a featured role have the opportunity to audition, and anyone interested in ensemble-only participation will not need to perform solo during the audition process. Starting in week three, we will dive into rehearsing our show and working towards the final performance!

Mondays* 3:30-5:30pm at Atlantic
OR
Sundays 3:30-5:30pm at Park Slope
*Monday rehearsals have the option for school pick up from any walkable school with at least two kids participating.
Additional Important Dates:
Mandatory ALL cast rehearsal dates beyond regular Monday/Sunday times:
Thursday May 29th from 4-6pm
Friday May 30th from 4-7pm
Performances will be on Saturday May 31st at Gallery Players Theater in Park Slope (199 14th St, Brooklyn) Exact performance times and ticket information will be available in early March.

My acting loving kiddo had an amazing time! The teachers were warm, enthusiastic and encouraging and had a TON of energy. They did a great job welcoming my daughter as she was feeling shy on her first day. At the end of the day, she told me that this was the BEST camp she attended when school was out and wanted to sign up for the next one. Thank you!!
Improvements:
This was our first time and while I knew that there was a performance at the end of the week, I didn't realize that parents would be invited until I got the email confirmation before camp started. I loved getting to see her in action but wish I had realized/known a little sooner to account for the time in my work day. It was great to see it though - now I just know to block off time the next time around!

Juniper has had a tough time with drop offs for school and weekend classes. She cries and clings onto us every time. However, the counselors at Treasure Trunk have been absolutely amazing - especially Mr. Kyle. Juniper runs in without even saying bye to us and is disappointed to leave when we pick her up. She loves it!
Improvements:
Nothing! I do wish the after school care was a bit more affordable because I would definitely sign her up for that.

So far we’ve done one-day superhero camp and one-week Brave Mermaids camp. My 3.5 year old loves the crafts, stories and getting to act things out! Teachers seem engaged and classes well organized and structured. We appreciate having a theater and imagination oriented class for this age group!
Improvements:
Feedback from my kid is that the 390 Social location is a bit dark and not as cheery as other places. That said, we’ll probably still book there as it is convenient for us.

Thank you so much for sharing, love hearing about their great time with us! Finding spaces to hold our programs outside of our studios is an ongoing challenge. Thankfully 390 is a clean and safe space in a great location, so we continue to run camps there while we look for a permanent home in central park slope. :)
