Class Experience
Participants work with their classmates and the instructor during class to develop their beginning listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in an immersion setting; class activities are conducted primarily in German.
The three A1-level courses are for those who are looking to learn German from the beginning in a formal setting.
Those who fully participate in and complete A1-1, A1-2, and A1-3–typically over the span of 3 semesters–will ideally be prepared for the A1 Goethe Exam, recognized globally as proof of German language ability. Read more here about the Goethe Institute and their language exams.
Class Requirements
- A1-1 or equivalent
- recommended score of at least 16 points or higher on the "Stufe 1, A1.1" online assessment– https://www.hueber.de/momente/einstufungstest

Loved:
The instructor paid close attention to how each student learns and was able to shape the class to help each one of us. The teacher was very good at gently correcting any errors by repeating back our answers with corrections. The teacher was very, very good.
Improvements:
I like the additional exercises from the Goethe site. More homework would be welcome.

Loved:
That the instructor was speaking in German. My response isn't to his level, but my understanding is, so it's nice to work on listening.
