Class Experience
Certify your language proficiency by taking a Goethe-Institut German exam.
The B2 Goethe-Zertifikat and test is meant for students who have completed two semesters of the B2 level (German 4a and German 4b) and feel comfortable with the following:
B2
Can understand the main contents of complex texts on concrete and abstract topics; also understands specialized discussions in his/her own primary area of specialization. Can communicate so spontaneously and fluently that a normal conversation with native speakers is easily possible without a great deal of effort on either side. Can express him/herself on a wide range of topics in a clear and detailed manner, explain his/her position on a current issue and indicate the benefits and drawbacks of various options.

The proctors were absolutely wonderful! They made the testing experience - which is arduous and stressful - so much more pleasant than I ever could have imagined it to be. I appreciated their kindness and attentiveness for whatever I needed. Would love to give my thanks to them yet again for everything they did - I could not have asked for a better experience.
Improvements:
Making sure other attendees of the school/society are aware that testing is in progress when it's happening - there were some disturbances due to people showing up for GTHS activities (these were handled with the utmost professionalism and understanding by the proctors).

The effort Frau Jackson puts into preparing her classes. The content is wonderful. She has great teaching skills and is so patient and caring with the kids

It wasn't super professional which allowed it to have a chill non anxious environment. We also got to talk amongst one another and it was fun.

About German Free School
We offer German classes for all ages, including adult classes and formal classes for homeschool, private school, and other younger learners. We also serve as a Goethe Institute testing center, and our curriculum aligns with the Goethe Institut and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; classes prepare interested students for the Goethe German language proficiency exams, recognized globally as proof of German-language ability.
