Class Experience
In Musical Theater Builders, children experiment with theatrical improv to develop original stories and characters. New lyrics are created, based on the children’s ideas, and set to famous Operatic, Symphonic, and Musical Theater hit tunes—often with very comic effect! Finally, children rehearse and perform the “World Premiere” of their original show for family and friends.
Each class is accompanied by a conservatory-trained musician.
Class size is limited, ensuring that each child is given the opportunity to make his or her own unique contribution.
- 3:00-5:00 pm (with free classroom pick up at 2:40 for PS 333 students)
- For children in grades K-1
- Class takes place at the Joan of Ark School Complex at 154 W 93rd St.

Sample Class Format
- Each class will be progressive as we work to devise our show utilizing a variety of improvisational games and activities. Towards the end of the term, focus shifts to rehearsing the show, they will memorize songs and their original script for the final performance (which will either be live or livestreamed for COVID safety).
Other Things To Know
Camp is non-refundable. However, if there is a student on the waitinglist willing and able take your assigned place, in that case, we are happy to offer refunds up to 2 days before the start of camp.

Gerry was amazing and even stayed late to accommodate our work schedule! Love him- he’s great with kids- they even made up their own song with lyrics and a play- the kids loved it!!!

Marisa is an amazing instructor. She teaches real improv techniques and theater basics. She takes the kids seriously and really connects with them. My child loves this class. He’s learning a lot and having a blast.
