Minni Places + Spaces

What is placemaking, and why does it matter? Our Minni Places + Spaces program asks these big questions in the accessible context of children’s favorite buildings and destinations. We’ll explore theories behind the design and construction of playgrounds and parks, towers, and castles, and look closely at our favorite local structures for inspiration and study. Students will apply basic two- and three-dimensional architectural design concepts as they plan and construct their very own favorite new places. A trip to the park will never be the same!

The program schedule offers:

• Full Day creative program from 9am–3pm
• Rotating design themes led by teaching artists + professional educators
• Outdoor art-making or field trips to nearby studios + galleries (location dependent)

Artwork Pickup Policy:  We encourage Minni participants to take artwork home with them when they leave their activities, unless artwork needs to dry and cannot be transported. All artwork not picked up within two weeks of after the activity will be recycled.
