Class Experience
Great for teens, couples, and friends.
You’ll get step-by-step instructions. Each person can make up to 2 pieces. Includes the 2-hour lesson, use of studio tools and clay, choice of 15 glaze colors, and firing for your pieces.
Each student gets their own wheel. The instructor will help you center your clay. Items are fired, finished, and ready for pickup within 3-4 weeks.
**You can create up to five pieces and keep your best two. If you’d like to keep more than two pieces, it will be $5 per additional piece. We will dip your pieces in a glaze color of your choice. If you'd prefer to come back and customize your pieces yourself, it’s $15 for two hours of Open Studio time. To schedule your Open Studio session, please email us at create@theartbeat.net.
Other Things To Know
A full refund is available for cancellations made more than seven days in advance. Store credit for registration fee only is available for cancellations made seven days to 72 hours before the start date. No refunds or credits for cancellations made less than 72 hours before the start of the class, camp or workshop.

It was fun and low pressure
Improvements:
The communication about when the fired pottery would be ready was inconsistent. I had to call multiple times to check on the pieces and have still not gotten word that they are ready over a month later. I was told they would be ready the week following the class.

We’re sorry for the miscommunication—pottery can take 4–6 weeks to be ready depending on drying time and glazing (dip-glazed or return-to-glaze). Rushing the process can damage pieces. What a fun class ….. it was both fun & relaxing! Our instructor was great - easy to understand her instructions and she helped with hands on demos.
