Class Experience
Haven’t picked up a paintbrush since school but find yourself tempted? It’s never too late to learn a new skill. Our Absolute Beginners class is designed to help you overcome your fears and motivate you to get started! Get acquainted with the fundamentals of painting, learn how to choose your subjects, and work on a canvas! For beginners starting out, acrylic paint is the perfect medium before moving onto more challenging mediums- like Oils or Watercolor. Acrylic Paint is easy to use, less messy + quick to dry, and helps you get familiar with the basics. Learn how to create shape, form, light, and shadow and how to work with different brushes and applications and the basics of color mixing, how to choose your color palette to add tone and personality to your work. Through week-to-week instruction, you will develop your skill set + grow your confidence! Art takes targeted practice, so we recommend a full course for a step-by-step guide in how to paint or a minimum of 6 classes. If you are intimidated by group class scenarios, don’t worry our classes are small so you receive nurturing guidance from your instructor. Drawing experience is useful for this class but not essential. Like the title says absolute beginners are welcome! Come with an open mind and leave with skills + your very own canvas paintings!

Loved:
Awful instructor. Doesn’t demonstrate, criticizes, doesn’t know how to teach. Doesn’t show anything, paints over your paintings. Gahhh
Improvements:
Demonstrate techniques, give actual instructions. Don’t paint over someone’s work, explain steps.

Excellent class and projects. My daughter had a great time and really liked the teachers.
Improvements:
Based on what my daughter said there wasn’t a ton of room for creativity- she felt like she had to stick to the way the teacher said to do the projects.
