Explore the versatility of Watercolor Painting in this class! Perfect for all levels, including beginners. Learn to create beautiful compositions for landscapes, cityscapes, and nature, capturing atmospheric perspective. Watercolor is translucent, and we focus on practical techniques each week, progressing from basics to more ambitious works.
In this course, you'll explore:
- Fundamental watercolor approaches: wet on wet, dry on dry, blooming, splattering, masking, gradated, flat wash, and more.
- Techniques for building up color effectively.
- Guidelines for applying the right amount of layers—finding the balance.
- Choosing a suitable color palette to evoke tone and emotion in your subject.
- Brushstroke techniques and professional applications.

To reschedule a single class, purchase a Rescheduling Ticket 24 hours before class.
To reschedule a full semester, email us for a credit (less a $75 admin fee). No refunds will be provided.
What To Bring
- CANVAS IS NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR COURSE FEE. Please purchase a canvas and bring it with you to class, we recommend a medium size canvas to begin with. Canvas may be purchased at your local art store (support small businesses when you can!). Please note you may need more than one canvas for a full course pkg. If you are working in watercolor please bring a canvas designed for watercolor painting, or we can supply you with watercolor paper.
- Please note a limited selection of Canvas can also be purchased in our studio for $35 and upwards. If you are purchasing a canvas from our studio, payment must be completed at class time, please note we do NOT offer IOUs so please have the exact change with you.
- Watercolor paint + the use of brushes are supplied.
- You are welcome to bring photos of landscapes or cityscapes that inspire you or have personal meaning for you to work from.

Excellent class and projects. My daughter had a great time and really liked the teachers.
Improvements:
Based on what my daughter said there wasn’t a ton of room for creativity- she felt like she had to stick to the way the teacher said to do the projects.
