Class Experience
Every week of film camp covers the basics of how to make a movie from start to finish, no experience is necessary! Kids will learn how to write their own scripts, storyboard, operate professional camcorders and DSLRs, act in front of a camera and edit using Final Cut Pro. Additionally, weekly themes keep activities exciting and allow returning students to sharpen their skills.
Weekly Breakdown:
- Monday - Ice breaker games, brainstorming movie ideas, script writing and location scouting.
- Tuesday - Table reads of scripts, camera lessons, casting, storyboarding, and pre-production.
- Wednesday - Break into small groups to film separate projects.
- Thursday - Finish filming and editing lessons with professional editing software.
- Friday - Finish edits and screening party.
Week of 6/16 and 6/23 - Classic Film Camp.
This weeklong workshop covers filmmaking from A-Z and is great for beginners as well as experienced students looking to sharpen their skills. (ONLY ON THE UWS)

Improvements:
The kids did not really learn how to do animation in film, although they did write, direct and produce their own film.

This week-long class sparked my daughter’s creativity to new heights. She woke up early each day and went to bed brimming with excitement about the day’s progress. She was thrilled to be part of creating an all-kid film—practicing her acting skills while also learning new ones like editing, special effects, and music overlay. Being in a mixed-age group with both new and returning Take 2 students enriched the experience and helped her grow in confidence and collaboration.
