Beginner Sewing 4 | T-Shirt

For students who have completed Beginner 1, 2 and 3, this course will let you unleash your inner designer! You’ll practice the machine sewing skills taught in the previous classes and begin to apply those lessons to the construction of wearable garments. A Supplemental Kit and fabric will be provided.

Course Highlights:

• Measurements and fitting: Learn which measurements are utilized for selecting and preparing a garment pattern, and how to take proper measurements.
• Pattern prep: We’ll continue learning how to read patterns, what pattern markings mean and how to transfer them to our fabric, and how to blend sizes based on our measurements as needed
• Fabric Selection and Care: Mastering fabric choice is essential for creating wearable and high-quality garments. This course focuses on working with knit fabrics, offering insights into the various fabric types, their properties, and practical applications. You'll learn how to select the ideal fabric for your project, properly prepare it for cutting and sewing, and handle it to achieve professional results.
• Garment construction: This course offers step-by-step guidance to help you transform your body measurements into a perfectly fitted, wearable garment. Throughout the lessons, you'll learn the techniques needed to design and construct a custom T-shirt, combining both creativity and practical skills.

Upon completion of Beginner Sewing 4, students will have improved their machine sewing skills as well as learned core principles of garment construction with knit fabrics. Class Policy

Registration Deadline: All registrations must be completed by the first day of new classes for each month. If you miss the registration deadline, the next opportunity to enroll will be the following month. Late enrollments are accepted up to one week after the deadline and include one makeup class; no additional makeup classes will be provided. Makeup Sessions: In the event that you are unable to attend a class day in a course, each course enrollment includes one makeup session. If more than one class day is missed and makeup time is desired, open sessions or private sessions are available for a fee ($25/hour for open sessions or $100/hour for private sessions). Materials: To ensure quality and suitability of supplies to each class, all necessary course materials are included with the course registration. If a participant wishes to use materials outside of the selected assortment provided, they will be responsible for covering any additional costs for those materials.

Sewing Kit: A complete sewing kit is included with your first course purchase, providing all the essentials needed to get started.

Late and Cancellation Policies

24-Hour Cancellation Policy:

• Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the scheduled class can request a refund or can choose to reschedule
• Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will not be refunded, but you may opt to reschedule if availability permits. Valid for one reschedule only.

Late Arrivals:

• Please arrive on time for your scheduled class. Courses are project based so it  is important to show up on time for every single class.
• Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate late arrivals or extend class time if you arrive after your scheduled start time.

Rescheduling Policy:

• You are allowed one makeup session per course if you need to reschedule.

After the first makeup session is scheduled, any additional changes will only be allowed if you provide 24 hours' notice. If notice is not given, or if a reschedule is requested after the one allowed makeup, the session will either be forfeited or require payment to reschedule the make up session.
