Class Experience
CLASS DESCRIPTION: This semester we will focus on 2D works and the foundations of art through an exploration into drawing and painting as we build our portfolio. Geared towards High School Portfolio requirements, this class is also suited for 4th-5th graders and up that are looking to sharpen their classical art skills. Simultaneously, we will discuss art history.
This class is taught by Anna Donado, MFA, and Juan Carlos Donado, PhD in Philosophy.
*Please note, this class will focus on works on paper with pencil, paint, and pastels. There will be little to no 3D building as this is a rigorous drawing and art history class.
Homework This class will receive a weekly homework assignment. While homework is optional, we do recommend that your child completes the assignments each week in order to benefit the most from the class.
Pickup included from Brooklyn Arbor all days. Pickup included from 132 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Pickup included from 84 on Thursdays.
Our afternoon workshops are supplemental learning sessions to your child's education, as we add geography and history to our art classes. Our students work diligently through journal work, guided projects, and drawing exercises.
Notes
Requires full semester commitment. Classes are $85 per session, missed classes are non-refundable. We do try to arrange for the student to make-up a class that was missed due to illness. Make-up classes are not guaranteed. Parents must provide an after-school snack for their child. NYC guidelines will be followed for Covid-19 safety. In the rare chance of a city-wide shutdown, our classes will pivot to remote.
Class Requirements
- Our classes are for curious students that love to learn, ask questions, hold intelligent conversations, and follow directions while making beautiful art.
- Manners and respectful behavior are highly important in our Goose Grease Studio.
- The Tuesday class is specifically geared for those who are interested in learning drawing and painting skills.

Sample Class Format
- 2:30-3:00 || Arbor & 132 School Pickup, Middle School Kids walk over independently
- 3:00-3:25 || Snack *kids bring from home
- 3:00-3:25 || Kids will turn in their homework and receive next week's assignment
- 3:00-3:25 || Kids will independently fill out their History Timeline Notebook and complete a notation assignment on art history.
- 3:30-5:15 || Work on main project
- 5:15-5:30 || Cleanup and dismissal at 5:30

- Requires full-semester commitment.
- Tuition is non-refundable.
- If your child needs to miss a class for any reason, the class is non-refundable.
- We will try our best to offer a make-up class during the week that they are absent.

About Goose Grease Shop
Goose Grease House is a Brooklyn-based art workspace that offers unique classes, interactive camps and creative experiences by blending art with history and culture. We offer in-studio and virtual classes.
Our studio is dedicated to expanding the minds and skills of young Goose Greasers. With a curriculum designed by husband and wife team, Juan and Anna Donado, budding artists are encouraged to think independently and creatively while immersing themselves in multi-media arts.
Juan holds a PhD in Philosophy and uses his background in languages and the classical cannon to develop robust historical lessons. Anna has a Masters in the Arts and combines many art forms into her mixed media, sculptural approach to learning history.
