Class Experience
explore materials, composition and design techniques in 2D and 3D projects
Fab Lab is all about exploring a wide variety of materials in cool new ways. While the outcome is design, the techniques draw on areas of art, engineering *and* science. Even simple supplies can lead to sophisticated results when used in clever ways.
2D projects include Cyanotype Prints (using the science of the sun), Self-Portraits (with your reflection at the center) and Screenprinting (using a screen engineered from an embroidery hoop).
3D projects include Monochorome Collage (a sketch in 3D), Resin Casting (colorful chemistry), Mini Scrap Weavings (for loom construction and textile explorations), and an Assemblage Box (as a personal storytelling tool).

Loved:
My daughter spent a week at Curious Jane this summer. She didn't know anyone else in her group, but found it very welcoming and enjoyable. It seemed like the size of the project and the amount of time spent on it was just right for her age group. She was very proud of the project she built, but also had fun with the other activities that were mixed into her days.
