Class Experience
colorful storytelling in every dimension
Creative young makers are *bursting* with stories, and this class lets them develop their stories in crafty and 3-dimensional form. Campers plot out the “who, where, what and how” of storytelling. They conceptualize the characters, create imaginative setting maps and learn about basic story structure. They explore all of this through craft projects, rather than the written word; no specific writing skills required!
This is all about bringing a story from the imagination, to life through creative objects, and understanding more about how a story is built along the way.
Projects include Character Trading Cards, Activity Dice, Story Costumes, Paper Dolls, Plot Line Time Line, Story Souveniers, Story Maps, Story Fishing and Matching Games, and of course a Book Box to keep all their story elements together.

My daughter spent a week at Curious Jane this summer. She didn't know anyone else in her group, but found it very welcoming and enjoyable. It seemed like the size of the project and the amount of time spent on it was just right for her age group. She was very proud of the project she built, but also had fun with the other activities that were mixed into her days.

The pick up and drop off was so smooth. The entrance was so welcoming and fun. My daughter was so excited to be there. Thank you to everyone that contributed to such an amazing camp. We hope you come back to the area next year and are interested in the Long Beach camp as well.
