Class Experience
My Ladies and Lords: How about a whimsical version of Shakespeare’s “King Lear” as a great theatrical experience for your young actors? Our King and Queen must decide who to leave their kingdom to—will it be the sweet Princess Cara or one of her spoiled sisters, the Princesses Prunella and Griselda? Complicating the decision is Zuriel, the power-hungry advisor to the King (and a secret army of monsters!), who uses magic to try and steal the kingdom away! Ladies-of-the-Court, Gypsies, Jesters (a shout out to the Marx Brothers), and brave knights will sing, dance and act their way into your heart!
(Please check that you are available for the show date before registering!)
Notes
We ask that students have no more than 2 absences. Students must attend the dress rehearsal in order to perform in the show. We want the students to have a positive experience and to feel comfortable onstage.
Class Requirements
- All levels welcome!
Sample Class Format
- 10 minute vocalizing
- 10 minutes acting exercises
- Remainder of class is spent learning music, choreography and staging the play
Other Things To Know

We ask that students memorize their lines and songs at home and practice their choreography as needed. They will be coached by assistants during class but if their parts are larger, they need to practice at home as well. We send periodic emails detailing what has been taught as we proceed.

Full refund up to and after first class, half refund after second class, no refund after third class.
What To Bring
- Ballet or "jazz" shoes brought to each class and worn for the show. They are easy to purchase on Amazon.
- We provide the costume, except for shoes and tights or socks as needed. This varies depending on their part in the show.
- We provide the script. Students must bring a 1 inch, 3-ring-binder to class for us to insert the script.
- Students will be sent a link to the musical recordings so that they are able to practice at home. We will also upload videos of the choreography for them to practice at home as needed.

Loved:
Loved how each kid got to have an opportunity to speak and play a character. It was great. So glad we did it!
Improvements:
It’s our first time doing this and this was one of the more expensive camps we signed up for. I didn’t realized we would also have to pay for tickets to see the play in addition to camp. I would suggest to roll in the cost of 4 tickets for each camper (and increase tuition) and then any additional tickets should be bought separately.
