NYC Kids Play: Explore, Create, and have Fun!
NYC Kids Play offers open play sessions in our 8,000-square-foot, two-story, state-of-the-art Early Learning Center, designed to inspire creativity, exploration, and fun. Children are free to explore and move through our thoughtfully designed, child-centered spaces, enjoying supervised, unstructured play at their own pace.
What We Offer:
• Musical Sound Garden: A dynamic space for music, movement, and creative expression.
• 1,000-Square-Foot Sky Room/gym: A haven for gross motor skill development featuring tunnels, climbers, and a state-of-the-art play set where kids can run, jump, and explore.
• Children’s Art Factory: A space where creativity comes alive! Children can:
• Create a small art project.
• Visit the Great Wall of Chalk for doodling and design.
• Play peek-a-boo in the Playhouse.
• Dive into sensory activities.
• Make a personalized painting to take home.
Our center is designed to foster exploration, creativity, and developmental growth while offering a safe and engaging environment for kids to simply be kids.

Families can book single (45 min) or double sessions (90 min)
Class Requirements
- All Parents/Caregivers must sign in and out of the space during your visit.
- Children should dress for fun and play. We have a sandbox!
- Dress for mess in the Children's Art Factory (smocks are available)
- Adults are shoe free in the Sky Room/gym area.
- Children should wear sturdy rubber soled shoes at all times.(no winter or rain boots, party shoes, crocks or socks) This is meant for safety purposes in the school.
- No food is allowed in our play areas or classrooms. (please limit food to the reception area only:)
- We ask parent/caregivers to limit time on cell phones to assure safety and quality of all the children.
- Strollers are parked in our reception area or can be folded and stored inside our entryway. (we must keep all common spaces, entry ways and egresses clear at all times).
- Parents and Caregivers are responsible for their children at all times. Children cannot be left unattended and need to be accompanied by an adult.
- We have both adult bathrooms, changing table and children's bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs.

Other Things To Know
Parents & Caregivers should be present at all times to assure the safety of their children.
You may cancel up to 2 hours before the start of each class without a penalty. Although drop in programs are non-refundable, we are happy to transfer you to another upcoming class. Please make this request via the hisawyer website.
What To Bring
- All materials including Art Supplies are provided by Perry School.

Very interactive and engaging teachers that played with my son throughout the Open Play. The rooms had a ton of activities, great toys, slides, etc. that kept us entertained for hours. This is a great option to have on the weekends!

My daughter absolutely loves the Boundless Beginnings program at Perry School. I think it’s one of the best Toddler programs offered in the downtown area. Dawn Lesley Stewart, the Founder/Director leads the Boundless Beginnings program and my child has the opportunity to explore the entire space, including an Art area, the Think Tank room, a giant gym/play room, and the Sound Garden.The classes are 90 minutes long and Dawn puts so much creativity and thought into the lessons each time we visit.

Amazing class! G loved the free play gym area and all the stations in the think tank. Dawn is wonderful with the kids. There was enough time to explore and we can’t wait to try the other offerings.

About Perry School
Hello Families,
Perry School is an 8000 sq ft, sunlit early learning center located at 136 West 10th Street since 2001. We offer enrichment classes and preschool programs for children ages 3 months through 6 years old. Our programs include NYC Kids Play, Baby Moves, NYC Kids Camps, NYC Kids Parties and our beloved Perry School preschool program ages toddler through 4 years.
