Class Experience
Learn different ways to make art and animals move! Create flip books, agamographs, mini-motion pictures, kinetic sculptures, and puppets. You will also learn how to draw different animals in their environment using a variety of materials. If you have enrolled in this camp before, rest assured the projects and experience will be different!
Parents: please pack lunch, snack, and water. Each day, in addition to art activities, there will be games, story time, choice time, and outdoor time. Please apply sunscreen before camp.
Participants must be going into 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade. Please text Genie with questions 443-449-6142.
Notes
Social Studio Art offers a unique camp experience with an average of 16 kids in a beautiful, air conditioned studio located in Roland Park. 2 experienced teachers and an intern design and execute each day using the Creative Process Framework. Kids make art and make friends, build confidence, and try new things in a safe and structured environment. The quality of the experience depends on campers coming each day, on time! Drop-off and pick-up happen at the door; only campers come into the studio. Parents will be invited to see the space and work in progress on Wednesdays for “popsicles at pick-up” from 2:45-3:15pm.
Other Things To Know
Registration will be finalized May 15th. Each registration includes a non-refundable deposit of $100. After 5/15/25, a refund is contingent on filling the space. The quality of the experience depends on campers coming each day and on time!

My daughter loved the teacher, and appreciated the camaraderie with the other children in the camp.
Improvements:
Flexibility in start time (maybe the ability to pay for an hour of before care). 9 AM is tough since it cuts in to the work day.

I love Genie so much. She strikes a perfect balance between giving advice but also giving you freedom to go where you wish. She supports and encourages you, and then she backs off. And if you happen to go a different way than you were expecting with your art, she always supports where you chose to go, and helps you work through struggles, allowing you to remain true to yourself while also improving your work. I really love her teaching style - directive but not too directive. She's wonderful!
