Class Experience
In this Fort Building and Winter Fun workshop, kids build creative structures and shelters and participate in other outdoor activities with the help of KoKo NYC Teaching Artists.
Interacting with various spaces on the KoKo Lot, kids will mix and match the materials on-hand (wood, textiles, etc.) to bring their imaginations to life!
Using the KoKo Lot and our recycled/found objects as inspiration, the KoKo staff help kids imagine possibilities and bring their ideas to life.
Kids may choose to use hand saws, tape, battery-operated drills, rope, etc. to build their structures. Allowing kids the opportunity to take controlled risks in a safe, supportive environment has been shown to increase kids’ confidence, leadership and innovation skills. KoKo staff bring years of experience in self-directed, play-based learning to encourage kids to take healthy, managed risks and try new experiences.
PLEASE NOTE: There is NO Extended Day offered for this Midwinter Recess 2025 workshop.
