Class Experience
Discover the magic of math through movement, puzzles, and hands-on challenges!
In this camp, young learners will explore mathematical concepts like patterns, symmetry, and physics through engaging, interactive activities. Campers will dive into domino runs, marble mazes, and motion-based challenges while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork. Each camper receives a camp t-shirt to celebrate their week of discovery.
Sample Class Format
- Camp Hours
Standard Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Extended Day Option:
Drop-off as early as 7:30 AM
Pick-up until 5:30 PM
Constructive activities during extended hours include LEGO challenges, puzzles, and free play in the Discovery Zones.
Daily Schedule
- 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Morning Math Warm-Up (interactive games to introduce the day’s concept)
- 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Motion Challenge
Monday: Building patterns with dominoes.
Tuesday: Designing marble runs.
Wednesday: Exploring symmetry with large-scale designs.
Thursday: Creating motion-based Rube Goldberg machines.
Friday: Team challenge: Combine skills to build a collaborative domino and marble run.
- 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Snack Break & Brain Teasers
- 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Discovery Zone Activities
Lite-Brite Wall: Explore symmetry and patterns.
LEGO Wall: Build structures with mathematical concepts.
RC Tonka Pit: Test physics and motion in play.
Rigamajig Engineering Set: Create moving designs.
- 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Lunch Break
- 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM: Math Art & Design (create colorful, mathematical art like geometric paintings or pendulum designs)
- 1:15 PM – 2:15 PM: Special Weekly Activity
Monday: Pop Jet Splash Pad and Gaga Ball
Tuesday: Movie Day at Cinebistro Summer Film Fest
Wednesday: Pop Jet Splash Pad and Outdoor Play
Thursday: Outdoor Games and Challenges with the Outdoor Game Bag
Friday: Outdoor Games and End-of-Week Domino & Marble Run Celebration
- 2:15 PM – 3:15 PM: Math in Motion Wrap-Up (reflect on challenges and share highlights)
- 3:15 PM – 3:30 PM: Pick-Up for Standard Hours
Extended Day Activities (3:30 PM – 5:30 PM)
During extended hours, campers will engage in constructive activities like:
- LEGO and engineering challenges
- Creative math art stations
- Puzzles and games in the Discovery Zones
- Quiet reflection or reading space
Special Features
- STEAM-Based Learning: Explore math through motion, patterns, and design.
- Collaborative Projects: Build large-scale domino and marble runs to showcase teamwork and creativity.
Weekly Highlights:
- Tuesday Movie Days: Enjoy a fun film at Cinebistro Summer Film Fest.
- Monday & Wednesday Splash Pad: Cool off and play at the Stony Point Pop Jet area.
- Thursday & Friday Outdoor Games: Gaga Ball and engaging outdoor challenges.
Camp T-Shirt: Each camper receives a custom camp t-shirt to commemorate their fun-filled week.
