Class Experience
Navigate your way to a week of discovery and coding fun!
This engaging one-week camp combines the art of map-making with the logic of coding. Campers will explore geography, design their own maps, and learn to code simple navigation paths using hands-on STEAM activities. Through puzzles, games, and creative projects, young explorers will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and spatial awareness skills. Each camper will receive a custom camp t-shirt to celebrate their journey.
Sample Class Format
- Camp Hours
Standard Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Extended Day Option:
Drop-off as early as 7:30 AM
Pick-up until 5:30 PM
Constructive activities during extended hours include coding puzzles, map-based games, and creative play in the Discovery Zones.
- Daily Schedule
- 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Morning Navigation Briefing (map trivia, geography games, and warm-up activities)
- 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Map & Coding Challenge
- Monday: Learn about maps and design a treasure map.
- Tuesday: Explore directional coding and create a simple navigation game.
- Wednesday: Combine maps and coding to design a robot’s path to hidden treasure.
- Thursday: Program navigation paths for a robot or game character using simple coding tools.
- Friday: Final project: Design a map and program a coded route to share with the group.
- 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Snack Break & Map Stories
- 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Discovery Zone Activities
- Coding Station: Practice coding challenges and navigation puzzles.
- LEGO Wall: Build landmarks and features for maps.
- RC Tonka Pit: Simulate routes and test coding logic with vehicles.
- Lite-Brite Wall: Create colorful maps and coding sequences.
- 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Lunch Break
- 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM: STEAM Exploration
Monday–Friday: Hands-on projects like building a compass or creating a 3D map.
- 1:15 PM – 2:15 PM: Special Weekly Activity
- Monday: Pop Jet Splash Pad and Gaga Ball
- Tuesday: Movie Day at Cinebistro Summer Film Fest
- Wednesday: Pop Jet Splash Pad and Outdoor Play
- Thursday: Outdoor Games and Challenges with the Outdoor Game Bag
- Friday: Outdoor Games and Map & Code Showcase Celebration
- 2:15 PM – 3:15 PM: Wrap-Up & Review (share projects and reflect on discoveries)
- 3:15 PM – 3:30 PM: Pick-Up for Standard Hours
Extended Day Activities (3:30 PM – 5:30 PM)
During extended hours, campers will engage in constructive activities like:
- Coding puzzles and navigation challenges
- Free play with map-making and compass design
- Quiet reflection or reading space
Special Features

- Weekly Highlights:
Wednesday–Friday Coding: Hands-on practice with programming and navigation.
Tuesday Movie Day: Enjoy a fun film at Cinebistro Summer Film Fest.
Monday & Wednesday Splash Pad: Cool off and play at the Stony Point Pop Jet area.
Friday Showcase: Celebrate achievements with a final Map & Code Showcase.
