Class Experience
Get ready to roll into a week of hands-on fun with marble runs and dominoes! Math in Motion introduces campers to the exciting world of patterns, problem-solving, and engineering through creative projects and interactive challenges. Campers will build intricate marble runs, design domino mazes, and explore mathematical concepts like gravity, symmetry, and sequences in action. The week ends with a collaborative showcase where campers demonstrate their creations and problem-solving skills.
Sample Class Format
- Camp Hours
Standard Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Extended Day Option:
Drop-off as early as 7:30 AM
Pick-up until 5:30 PM
Activities During Extended Hours: Discovery Zones free play (LEGO Wall, Lite Brite Wall, RC Tonka Pit), library exploration, and fidget center activities.
One-Week Daily Schedule
- 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Math Motion Briefing
- Start the day with marble and domino trivia, fun riddles, and warm-up challenges.
- 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Marble Runs & Domino Explorations
- Monday: Physics in Motion – Learn about gravity, momentum, and friction.
- Tuesday: Symmetry and Patterns – Create repeating patterns with dominoes and explore mirror symmetry.
- Wednesday: Engineering Challenges – Explore stability and structural design for complex runs and mazes.
- Thursday: Cause and Effect – Experiment with chain reactions in marble and domino designs.
- Friday: Camper Choice – Revisit favorite topics or refine projects for the showcase.
- 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Snack Break & Reflections

- 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Hands-On Building Challenges
- Monday: Build and test a simple marble run to explore gravity and speed.
- Tuesday: Design domino mazes with creative patterns and sequences.
- Wednesday: Engineer multi-level marble runs for speed and precision.
- Thursday: Create chain reactions combining marbles and dominoes.
- Friday: Final Showcase – Campers demonstrate their marble and domino creations for families and peers.
- 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Lunch Break
- 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM: Discovery Hour

- 1:15 PM – 2:15 PM: Special Weekly Activities
- Monday: Pop Jet Splash Pad
- Tuesday: Cinebistro Movie Day
- Wednesday: Pop Jet Splash Pad
- Thursday: Gaga Ball and Challenges with the Outdoor Game Bag
- Friday: Showcase Celebration – Display and share final projects with family and friends.
- 2:15 PM – 3:15 PM: Wrap-Up & Reflection
Recap the day’s lessons, celebrate successes, and prepare for the next day’s adventures.
- 3:15 PM – 3:30 PM: Pick-Up for Standard Hours
Extended Day Activities (3:30 PM – 5:30 PM)

- Fidget center activities with kinetic toys and building challenges.
- Creative crafting projects inspired by marble runs and domino designs.
