Explore the exciting world of chess with three unique camp options tailored to every skill level and interest! Whether you're a beginner learning the basics, an intermediate player sharpening your tactics, or someone looking for fast-paced fun with a creative twist, there's a camp just for you.
1. Chess Basics
This camp is perfect for beginners or those new to chess. It focuses on understanding the rules, learning piece movement, and mastering the fundamentals of strategy. Campers will gain confidence while playing friendly games and solving fun chess puzzles.
2. Chess Tactics
Designed for intermediate players, this camp hones tactical skills and decision-making. Through puzzles, analysis, and practice games, campers will sharpen their ability to anticipate moves and plan strategies.
3. Blitz Chess and Cubes
Combine the thrill of fast-paced chess with creative problem-solving! This camp features exciting blitz chess tournaments alongside hands-on challenges with 3D puzzles, cubes, and brain teasers. It’s perfect for campers who enjoy a mix of mental agility and creative thinking.

Notes
Although this is a full week of camp, there will be modified hours in observance of the federal holiday, Juneteenth (June 19th) and 20th. We will also not have early drop off or extended day hours on June 19th and 20th.
Class Requirements
- Chess Basics
No prior chess experience required.
Designed for beginners or those learning the game for the first time.
- Chess Tactics
Familiarity with chess rules and the ability to play full games independently.
Basic understanding of checkmate patterns and simple tactics.
- Blitz Chess and Cubes
Basic understanding of chess rules and piece movements.
Comfort playing shorter games (5-10 minutes per player).
Interest in puzzles and hands-on challenges.
