Class Experience
Bring your drawings to life in this one-of-a-kind camp! Using Pixicade, campers will transform their hand-drawn creations into fully playable digital games. From designing characters and obstacles to building unique levels, this camp combines art, technology, and imagination for an unforgettable experience.
Campers will explore game design principles, learn basic problem-solving techniques, and share their games with peers in friendly competitions. Whether it’s a maze, platformer, or racing game, campers will leave with playable creations and newfound creative skills!
Sample Class Format
Camp Hours
Standard Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Extended Day Option:
Drop-off as early as 7:30 AM
Pick-up until 5:30 PM
Activities During Extended Hours: Discovery Zones free play (LEGO Wall, Lite Brite Wall, RC Tonka Pit), library exploration, and fidget center activities.
Camp Schedule
- 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Game Design Briefing
Fun trivia and warm-up activities introducing game design concepts and the Pixicade platform.
- 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Exploration Hour
- Monday: Introduction to Pixicade – Learn how to draw, scan, and play your creations.
- Tuesday: Game Genres – Explore different game types (maze, platformer, etc.) and plan your design.
- Wednesday: Advanced Design – Add layers, challenges, and power-ups to your games.
- Thursday: Collaboration – Work with teammates to design a multi-level game.
- Friday: Camper Choice – Refine games for the final showcase.
- 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Snack Break & Reflections
- Share game ideas and discuss design strategies.
- 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Hands-On Challenges
- Monday: Create your first Pixicade game and test it with peers.
- Tuesday: Design obstacle courses or mazes with creative challenges.
- Wednesday: Add interactive elements and refine game mechanics.
- Thursday: Build team-based games and compete in a friendly tournament.
- Friday: Final Showcase – Campers present and play each other's games.
- 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Lunch Break
- 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM: Discovery Hour

- Monday & Wednesday: Pop Jet Splash Pad
- Tuesday: Cinebistro Movie Day – Creativity-themed film
- Thursday & Friday: Gaga Ball and Outdoor Challenges
- 2:15 PM – 3:15 PM: Wrap-Up & Reflection
