Class Experience
Shake up your summer in STEAM Mixologists 101, where science meets art and creativity takes the stage. Teens will experiment with mixing flavors, beats, fabrics, and media to explore the chaos—and magic—of combining STEAM elements. From creating unique taste combinations to experimenting with sound design, textiles, and visual media, this camp transforms everyday materials into extraordinary creations.
This is more than just a science or art camp—it's an opportunity for teens to explore how mixing diverse fields can spark innovation, learning, and fun!

Notes
A full day of camp for teens is 8:30am - 3:30pm. We strive not to over schedule this age group so if extended day is needed, we will ensure there are age appropriate options in our Discovery Zones that can be more interesting than smart phones, but phones are welcome provided they can be put away during core camp experiences.
Sample Class Format
- 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Mixology Warm-Up
Start the day with fun trivia, brainstorming challenges, and creative prompts to ignite curiosity.
- 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Exploration Hour
- Monday: Explore the art and science of mixing flavors.
- Tuesday: Learn about sound waves and experiment with creating music.
- Wednesday: Dive into fabric and textile combinations for innovative designs.
- Thursday: Discover how to combine visuals and media for unique creations.
- Friday: Prepare for the STEAM Showcase, presenting your best mixology projects.
- 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Snack & Brainstorm Break
- Refuel and discuss your favorite ideas and experiments.
- 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Hands-On STEAM Challenges
- Monday: Create edible art using flavor pairings and food science techniques.
- Tuesday: Build custom beats and rhythms while exploring sound design tools.
- Wednesday: Combine fabrics and textures to design wearable art or functional items.
- Thursday: Mix photos, videos, and other media to tell a story or create a digital masterpiece.
- Friday: Finalize and present your projects during the STEAM Showcase.
- 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Lunch Break
- 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM: Discovery Zone Exploration
Campers will have access to teen-friendly Discovery Zones, including:
- 3D Puzzles: Experiment with spatial reasoning through interactive puzzles.
- Pendulum Drip Canvas Art: Blend science and art to create unique designs.
- Air Hockey & Ping Pong Tables: Enjoy social games and friendly competition.
- Retro Games Redux: Take a break with classic arcade-style entertainment.
- Micro Squish Pets Center: Relax with tactile and creative crafting activities.
- 1:15 PM – 2:15 PM: Creative Hour
Focus on turning your mixology experiments into finished projects with guidance from instructors.
- 2:15 PM – 3:15 PM: Mixologist Challenges
Test your creations, experiment further, and refine your ideas in a collaborative setting.
- 3:15 PM – 3:30 PM: Daily Wrap-Up
Reflect on the day’s creations and get ready for the next exciting challenge.
