This week offers three exciting paths for teens to choose from. Whether you’re new to chess, looking to refine your skills in a quiet and focused setting, or diving into the ultimate gaming experience, there’s something for everyone!
Option 1: Chess Basics
This camp is perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to learn chess in a fun and relaxed environment—without little kids around who might already know more than you! Learn everything from how the pieces move to basic strategies that will have you confidently playing in no time.
Key Activities:

Opening Strategies: Discover simple ways to start your game strong. -
Tactics Practice: Explore beginner-friendly tactics like forks, pins, and checkmates. -
Casual Matches: Play friendly games to build confidence.
Option 2: Silent Knights: WK2
Back for a second week, or joining for the first time? Silent Knights is the quiet, focused camp for chess lovers who want to level up their game. With online resources, insights from Gotham Chess, and tips from a Women’s International Master, this is the ultimate chess training experience.
Key Activities:

Advanced Tactics: Deepen your understanding of positional play and endgames. -
Virtual Coaching: Get daily tips from a Women’s International Master. -
Self-Paced Practice: Use online tools to hone your skills at your own speed. -
Tournaments: Compete in daily challenges to test what you’ve learned.
Option 3: Games & Gamers
Welcome to gaming paradise! Whether you’re a Pokémon trainer, an RPG adventurer, or a board game strategist, this camp is for anyone who loves to play games. Share strategies, level up, and immerse yourself in the fun.
Key Activities:

Gaming Sessions: Play a variety of video games on popular consoles (Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox). -
Board Games & Card Games: Compete in classics or try new games. -
RPG Adventures: Dive into role-playing games and build epic stories. -
Gaming Challenges: Participate in friendly competitions to earn the title of camp champion!
Notes
A full day of camp for teens is 8:30am - 3:30pm. We strive not to over schedule this age group so if extended day is needed, we will ensure there are age appropriate options in our Discovery Zones that can be more interesting than smart phones, but phones are welcome provided they can be put away during core camp experiences.
Sample Class Format
- Daily Schedule (For All Camps)
- 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Morning Warm-Up
Kick off the day with fun puzzles, quick games, or light practice tailored to your camp choice.
- 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Focused Learning & Play
Chess Basics: Learn piece movements, strategies, and simple tactics.
Silent Knights: Analyze games and practice advanced strategies.
Games & Gamers: Play video or tabletop games, sharing strategies and ideas.
- 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Snack & Social Time
- 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Practice & Challenges
Chess Basics: Practice in small groups with instructor support.
Silent Knights: Solve puzzles, practice openings, or play tournament-style games.
Games & Gamers: Compete in team or solo challenges across various games.
- 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Lunch Break
- 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM: Discovery Zone Exploration
