Option 1: Canva Design Studio WK2
Back for more, or joining for the first time? This week builds on Canva basics to help you refine your digital art skills. Learn advanced design techniques, tackle client-style projects, and even explore how to turn your designs into a side hustle.
Key Activities:

Advanced Design Tools: Master Canva features like animations, overlays, and branding kits. -
Client Projects: Create mock designs for real-world scenarios like social media campaigns and posters. -
Portfolio Building: Add new projects to your digital portfolio to showcase your skills. -
Design as a Business: Learn how to pitch your skills and start earning as a designer.
Option 2: Old Tech vs New Tech
Explore the fascinating evolution of technology, from the humble beginnings of old-school inventions to the cutting-edge innovations shaping our world today. Discover how Wi-Fi, AI, and GPS work, and then dive into a project track of your choice: Music, TV, Video Games, or Navigation.

Behind the Scenes: Learn how Wi-Fi, artificial intelligence, and other everyday tech work. -

TV: Compare broadcast TV with streaming platforms and create your own concept.
Video Games: Explore the evolution of gaming consoles and design your own game idea.
Navigation: Build a simple map app or explore how GPS has transformed travel.

Notes
A full day of camp for teens is 8:30am - 3:30pm. We strive not to over schedule this age group so if extended day is needed, we will ensure there are age appropriate options in our Discovery Zones that can be more interesting than smart phones, but phones are welcome provided they can be put away during core camp experiences.
Sample Class Format
Daily Schedule (For Both Camps)
- 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Morning Warm-Up
Start the day with creative brainstorming or a fun tech trivia challenge tailored to your camp.
- 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Focused Learning & Practice
Canva Design Studio: Work on advanced features and real-world design challenges.
Old Tech vs New Tech: Dive into tech history and explore the mechanics of modern inventions.
- 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Snack & Social Time
- 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Hands-On Projects
Canva Design Studio: Create client-style projects and refine your digital portfolio.
Old Tech vs New Tech: Begin your project track and start prototyping your ideas.
- 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Lunch Break
- 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM: Discovery Zone Exploration
Campers will have access to:

- Pendulum Drip Canvas Art: Create art inspired by motion and physics.
- Air Hockey & Ping Pong Tables: Enjoy some downtime with social games.
- Retro Games Redux: Explore classic arcade games for a nostalgic break.

- 1:15 PM – 2:15 PM: Advanced Challenges
Canva Design Studio: Tackle group projects or design challenges with feedback from instructors.
Old Tech vs New Tech: Finalize your project track with hands-on guidance.
- 2:15 PM – 3:15 PM: Camp Showcase Prep
Prepare your designs or tech projects for the end-of-week showcase.
- 3:15 PM – 3:30 PM: Wrap-Up & Reflection
Share your progress and plan for the next day’s activities.
