Class Experience

Nature & Jewelry Art Camp
Immerse yourself in the world of nature and art with this exciting full-day camp! This camp blends the beauty of the natural world with the art of jewelry-making, offering a creative, hands-on experience for young artists.

Morning: Nature-Inspired Handicrafts
Start your day by joining artist Susan Mayberry for a nature-focused handicraft adventure! We’ll explore the great outdoors and draw inspiration from the beauty of plants, trees, and wildlife. Through projects like paper mache, color theory, collage, painting, and creating with natural materials, campers will learn to observe the environment around them and incorporate these elements into their art. This hands-on experience will help develop skills in using alternative materials, understanding color, and expressing creativity in innovative ways. By the end of the morning, campers will have created a range of nature-inspired artwork to take home.

Afternoon: Jewelry Making & Design
In the afternoon, shift your focus to jewelry making with MICA student Maddie Roth! Learn the fundamentals of beading and jewelry design while creating unique pieces of wearable art. Campers will work with a variety of materials to design their own earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. Special projects like shrinky dink charms, clay pendants, and more will inspire each camper to develop their personal style and enhance their design skills. By the end of the day, campers will have a stunning collection of handmade jewelry to showcase.

This full-day camp provides a perfect balance of nature-based art and jewelry creation, giving campers the opportunity to develop their artistic skills, gain confidence, and create lasting memories.

Notes

Campers will need to pack a lunch and bring a water bottle to enjoy during the lunch break (12-1) in our lounge area.
