Creative Writing and Art Zine Camp (ages 12-15)

Please note that this full-day camp is split into 2 parts and will be taught by 1 instructor in the morning and another during the afternoon session.

In this one of a kind summer camp, the first half of the day will focus on creative writing and storytelling taught by creative writing teacher Katie Wood. Attendees will learn about different forms of short poetry and micro flash fiction (100 words or less) to engage their reader and bring their story to life. By the end of the week, attendees will have experimented with different forms of short poetry, found poetry, black out poetry, and micro flash fiction.

In the second half of the day, campers will focus on creating their own zines and books! Taught by bookmaker Maddie Roth, attendees will have the opportunity to experiment and elevate their writing from the morning by creating tangible pieces of art. They will also practice techniques such as printmaking, collage and comic creation. By the end of the week, campers will take home their very own collection of zines and handmade books

Campers will need to pack a lunch and bring a water bottle to enjoy during the lunch break (12-1) in our lounge area.
