Class Experience
Clase de arte y manualidades for all of the bilingüitos creativos out there! Join us for a fun Spanish immersion elective that will get your chiqui's creativity flowing!
Hands-on learning at its finest! Students will learn new techniques for creating art, like painting with recycled materials, weaving with yarn and popsicle sticks, making lamps with leaves, empty milk jugs and tea lights, etc. It will be a mix of process art and project art.
In addition to expanding their creativity and developing new art techniques, your child will increase their Spanish vocabulary in a new context. This class creates the opportunity for language learning that goes beyond just every-day Spanish, ultimately boosting our student's self-confidence in the language!
Note that on some weeks will be doing themed projects that go with the seasons and holidays (like crafting with leaves para otoño, calabazas para Halloween, corazones para Día de San Valentín, etc. )
Example projects that we'll prepare together:
+ Letras en Estambre (Yarn letters)
+ Casas de Hadas con materiales reciclados (Fairy houses with recycled materials)
+ Milk jug lanterns
+ A cardboard yarn loom
+ Felt Tic-Tac-Toe boards
¡Vamos a crear arte increíble juntos!
This class is full Spanish immersion, but given the visual nature of it, all Spanish levels are welcome. See our level descriptions here. Geared for ages 3 - 8; younger kids of course will need more active support than the older kids. :)
Your registration includes access to live classes as well as access to the class recordings for self-paced playback. See Recordings FAQ here!
Our teaching team is awesome. 😍 See all of the instructor bios here!
What you'll learn
- Students will learn crafting techniques, practice motor skills, and develop their creativity all while strengthening their Spanish language skills around the topic.
- All Spanish levels are welcome.
Other Things To Know

Loved:
Love the idea of a skill based Spanish class- much more engaging than a typical Spanish class
Improvements:
Still unclear what time it ends, never seems to end on time which is hard for bedtime Speaking/reminding to the kids that it doesn’t have to be perfect, my 5 yr old gets discouraged by not making a perfect picture :/. Other drawing channels sometimes have good slogans like “the most important thing is to have fun and practice - it doesn’t have to look like the teacher”

Loved:
This class is fun and engaging. Kaila is kind, attentive, and keeps my 5 year old's attention. I love that it's mostly in Spanish but that she offers support to meet all students where they are at, and that my son is getting to do one of his favorite hobbies in Spanish! He looks forward to it every time!
Improvements:
Nothing- we love the class!!
