Class Experience
Mindful movement & creative dance
Join us for a joyful movement class that promotes mindfulness, dance, and family bonding! In this class, kids will practice mindful movment through deep breathing, stretching, and practicing a variety of yoga poses (solo poses will be modeled, but partner poses will also be suggested for those taking the class with siblings or caregivers).
Creative dance will also be incorporated, allowing children to explore their imagination and emotion, practice control over body and space, and play off of music and imagery. Fun books and songs are woven into the yoga & dance flow to keep little ones entertained while they learn.
Instructor Miss Brigitta is a registered Dance Movement Therapist and is certified in Children's and Prenatal Yoga. She has been working in our local northern Virginia community since 2010 teaching children’s yoga in English and Spanish for various academic, wellness, and mental health settings. Miss Brigitta is a Hispanic-American whose family is of Nicaraguan, Ecuadorian and Argentine descent.
This class is full Spanish immersion (besides occasional English for clarification, as needed), but geared for all Spanish levels to follow along. See our level descriptions here.

What you'll learn
- Open to all experience levels! Even if not fluent in Spanish, your child will absorb Spanish through immersion while also practicing and learning new skils!
Other Things To Know
In order for younger children (2-4) to effectively interact with the class content, they will need a parent nearby helping them stay engaged. Older children will likely be able to participate independently. Partner interaction will be encouraged for any families who are participating together (i.e. parent/child or siblings)
Refunds are available (minus 6.99% processing fee) for up to 3 days from date of booking, or up to 3 days before class/event begins, whichever comes first. After that, refunds will not be available.

Attend class via Zoom video
This class will be hosted on Zoom video conferencing platform. You will receive an email 30 minutes before class starts with a link to the class and access instructions. We recommend you make sure your device is up to date and meets all system requirements before class.

Love the idea of a skill based Spanish class- much more engaging than a typical Spanish class
Improvements:
Still unclear what time it ends, never seems to end on time which is hard for bedtime Speaking/reminding to the kids that it doesn’t have to be perfect, my 5 yr old gets discouraged by not making a perfect picture :/. Other drawing channels sometimes have good slogans like “the most important thing is to have fun and practice - it doesn’t have to look like the teacher”

This class is fun and engaging. Kaila is kind, attentive, and keeps my 5 year old's attention. I love that it's mostly in Spanish but that she offers support to meet all students where they are at, and that my son is getting to do one of his favorite hobbies in Spanish! He looks forward to it every time!

We love GrupoPLAY! It is the perfect way to get together with other Spanish speaking families and incorporate more Spanish time into our routines.

About Bilingüitos Spanish Immersion
Bilingüitos exists to cultivate and celebrate bilingualism all around us. We are specifically passionate about equipping bilingual families to connect with their family's heritage language TOGETHER through meaningful connection. We do this virtually through interactive and engaging Spanish immersion classes, featuring our signature Bilingüitos curriculum developed by linguist and childhood bilingualism specialist Kaila Diaz.
Beyond the virtual classroom, we are a vibrant and diverse community of families who are passionate about bilingualism and dedicated to instilling a lifelong love for learning in their children. We delight in bringing these local bilingual communities together through playdates, storytimes, seasonal parties, movie nights, and other events all around their area.
