Class Experience
Join us for a 6-week class (with drop-ins available) that introduces you and your child to the joy of preschool and kindergarten in nature! This class combines guided play with child-directed exploration to support your child’s development in a fun, engaging environment. While the emphasis remains on free play, we gently integrate learning goals through light adult scaffolding to encourage growth in key developmental areas.
Each day features a toddler-friendly group hike, where we’ll explore the wonders of nature together. You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with other caregivers in a supportive, community-oriented setting, all while discovering the joys of play-based learning in the outdoors.
Led by passionate, experienced educators, this class provides valuable resources and guidance for parents, ensuring a welcoming and enriching environment for all. Come join us for nature-filled Fridays that promote learning, growth, and connection!
Our Flexible Schedule:
9:30 AM - Welcome & Settle In
9:30 AM - 10:30 AM - Discovery & Exploration

Loved:
We LOVE Native School! My son looks forward to going to his class every week and repeatedly mentions how much he loves it. We're so thankful for the teachers creating invaluable learning experiences for our children and for handling tricky predicaments and inevitable conflicts in skillful and appropriate ways.
Improvements:
Wish there were more locations available in North County (Batiquitos, Buena Vista) for the Friday only enrichment programs!

Loved:
I really loved that all the instructors are so intuitive to each of the children. I noticed that the teachers really picked up on my kids needs and would constantly kneel down to speak at eye level, giving them the individual attention the needed. All the activities my kids participated in were so fun and engaging my kids would rave about what the did at camp the whole ride home.
Improvements:
We all loved the camp so much! If Native school could extended the schedule to add an additional day for a 5 day week that would make it even better.
