Loved:

The instructor, Gu, is great! Gives general advice but also helps people individually with throwing. Creates goals with people on what they want to create and gives pointers on how to reach them.

My class with Gu has been amazing mainly because Gu has foster a cute little community! Though I came in with some experience, I still learned a lot from her. She’s a 10/10 would recommend!

Improvements:

Though the instructor in doclay are amazing, I’ve had a mixed bag of experience with the glazes. The variety of glazes are nice but not being able to see how each glaze reacts with one another left me experimenting a lot. I’ve encounter so many glaze issues and it sucks to have to fix them often, mixing glaze or not. I think the staff needs to be harder on the students and members leaving the space clean as well…

Loved:

I like the guided learnings on how to make pottery. Cam also ensures that we are able to make various types of pieces depending on our interests, and spends time going over the basics when needed.

Improvements:

The studio can often feel very crowded and chaotic. It can feel as if classes are overbooked and this results in spending a lot of time having to wait for others to clean materials at the end of class, not enough space to dry pieces on the shelves, lack of aprons, etc.
