Class Experience
People may be the most fun and rewarding subject in art! Figure drawing remains the most popular subject in art education.
We are thrilled to offer a figure drawing class for ages 10-13. Students will learn the fundamentals of drawing human figures & faces including simple anatomy, as well as movement, and creating exciting compositions. In addition to realistic people, the class may explore drawing fantasy and anime figures. Be sure to catch this new and exciting class!
Students will start by learning important drawing principles for the human figure. Initially, drawing projects will be less complex and in a simpler drawing style. This approach will allow students to become familiar with drawing people. Then, we move on to drawing more realistic figures as students are ready to learn simple anatomy and how to shade their drawings for a 3-dimentional look.
Simple color is applied to many drawings throughout the session. Students learn by following the instructor in guided instruction. This class is 90 minutes long and open to beginner level figure drawing students. Prior formal drawing experience is very helpful.

The instructor does not do a very good job leading the children through a lesson. It's hard to follow her or know what she expects.

Stone Branch has helped teens maximize their artistic ability through incredible lessons and near-one-on-one guidance. Middle schoolers have attained acceptance to magnet high school art programs and high schoolers have gotten into every top art school and university in the country through Stone Branch guidance.
Young Masters offers exceptional drawing and painting classes for children ages 5-12. Our lesson plans are developed according to the student's age and skill level. We limit the size of our classes to 8 or fewer, allowing our instructors to provide personal attention for every student. Most of our instructors are professional artists who bring their knowledge and expertise to every class. We foster creativity and imagination in all artworks to ensure students build confidence in addition to skill.
