Class Experience
I Can Do That NYC is thrilled to offer the return of our special end-of-summer musical theater camp, providing a unique opportunity for your child to work with Broadway professionals and ICDT owners, Jeffrey Schecter and Melissa Swender on a full show!
During this two-week intensive, campers will learn scenes, songs, and choreography from a Broadway musical, culminating in two performances for family and friends on stage in an actual Off-Broadway theater! Past productions have included beloved shows like "Frozen" and "Beauty and the Beast."
In addition to being immersed in all aspects of staging a show, campers will also participate in classes designed to prepare them for the exhilarating experience of performing on stage. These classes will include scene work and improvisation to explore characters and character development, as well as vocal training with our professional Musical Director to learn and interpret songs.
Children attending full day must be at least 5.5 and have completed Kindergarten or higher to attend a full day
PLEASE NOTE: TWO WEEK CAMP ENDS ON SATURDAY AUGUST 23rd.
*We are scheduled to have two performances on Saturday at 11AM and 2PM. Please be aware the performance schedule is subject to change.
*Campers may be asked to stay later for additional rehearsal time, costume fittings, and tech rehearsals, etc during the 2 week camp. We will do our best to give as much notice as possible.
Notes
PLEASE NOTE: ALL LEVELS WELCOME, BUT this is not your average day camp. We play and have lots of fun, but we work hard and focus on musical theatre and learn a good amount of material. The kids that flourish in our camp are the kids that have a real interest in singing, dancing and acting or at least some of it. With that said, we love kids to try our camp and perhaps fall in love with musical theatre. Children will be required to bring their own snacks and lunch.

This is the second summer camp my daughter has attended, and we couldn't be happier. It was not only an opportunity to have fun and make new friends, but also to learn from great professionals in the fields of acting, singing, and dancing. It's incredible how they managed to organize a fantastic musical in just two weeks, involving children of different age groups. I highly recommend it!
