Spotlight Performance Prep: Tap, Jazz & Spotlight Singers

Join us for an exciting Wednesday night combo class where students will build a strong foundation in tap and jazz dance with Ms. Ashley while refining their vocal technique and harmonization skills in our new Spotlight Singers program with Mrs. "T." 

This two-hour class is designed to boost confidence and develop well-rounded performers through dynamic dance and vocal training.

Students can take this class alongside our Rev Up program to enhance their skills while participating in the Rev Up production or as a standalone program to build a solid foundation for future performances. This class is open to all ability levels, and new students are warmly encouraged to join.

Students will be divided into two groups by age and ability on the first day to ensure tailored instruction in a supportive and fun environment. Each group will enjoy:

🎶 1 Hour of Tap & Jazz Dance Technique

🎶 1 Hour of Vocal Training & Choral Singing

In Spotlight Singers, students will refine their vocal technique through breath control, pitch accuracy, diction, and resonance exercises while strengthening their ability to harmonize and blend in a group setting. They will also train their musical ear, develop stronger vocal stamina, and work on dynamic expression. The class will culminate in learning and performing a choral piece together.

In Tap & Jazz Dance Technique, students will develop strong foundational skills through fundamental tap and jazz exercises that focus on rhythm, coordination, and musicality. The tap portion of class will work on clarity of sound, precision, and timing, while the jazz portion will emphasize style, dynamics, and expressive movement. Everyone will improve balance, agility, strength, and flexibility while learning proper dance terminology and execution.

As we continue to incorporate tap into our upcoming productions, this class offers an exciting opportunity to be among the first Revolution students to develop this skill! Whether new to tap or looking to refine their technique, students will gain confidence and a strong foundation that will serve them in future performances.

Class Details:

Date: Wednesdays, Starting April 23rd

Class Dates: 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21, 5/28, 6/4

Optional: 6/11 if joining us for the Rev-Up performances (see below for more info).

Time: 4:00–6:00 PM

Ages: Ages 6–19

Cost: $150 (8 weeks)

Class Requirements:

Shoes: Tap shoes and either jazz or ballet shoes.

Attire: Comfortable clothing that allows for movement and provides a clear view of your feet.

🌟 Performance Opportunity! 🌟 

Spotlight Performance Prep students are invited to join our rev-up cast to perform one choral piece and one dance number with their class in our Rev Up performances in June. Participation is optional but highly encouraged! 

If you choose to participate, there will be a $15 fee for your Rev-Up Performance T-shirt, and attendance at the mandatory tech rehearsal on Wednesday, 6/11, from 4:00-8:00 PM is required.

*Please note that if you commit to performing, you must participate in both performances:
-Friday, 6/13, at 7:00 PM (Call time: 5:30 PM)
-Saturday, 6/14, at 2:00 PM (Call time: 12:30 PM)

We are pleased to offer payment plans for all our spring programs. If you withdraw from a class, the full amount is still required. Incomplete payments will make your family ineligible for future classes and productions until the balance is settled. Thank you for your understanding.
